10 Steps to Follow to Prepare an Excellent Coffee with the VeoHome Coffee Maker
- Ensure that the VeoHome coffee maker has been thoroughly cleaned beforehand.
- Remove the plunger from the coffee maker.
- Grind the coffee with the VeoHome coffee grinder or add ground coffee directly into the coffee maker. The standard dosage is equivalent to one tablespoon per person, or about 10g. Beware! The size of the grind is very important for the success of a good coffee. French press coffee makers have a long steeping time (5 to 6 minutes). Thus, to avoid over-infusing the coffee, the grain should be of medium to coarse size (2 to 3 mm). This will also prevent the filters from clogging, as inevitably happens with commercially ground coffee, which is much too fine.
- Pour hot water at about 85°C into the coffee maker. The water should not be boiling as it would then burn the coffee and destroy all its aromas. Make sure to stop at least 2.5cm from the rim of the coffee maker so that it does not overflow upon closing.
- Gently mix the coffee and water with a spoon to homogenize the mixture.
- Put the lid back on with the filter above the level of the coffee (plunger in high position). Make sure that the opening in the lid is well offset from the spout.
- Let it rest for about 5 to 6 minutes. If the infusion time is not respected, the coffee will either be too light (not enough infused) or too strong on the contrary.
- Once the steeping time has passed, gently press with your hand to lower the plunger.
- If the grind is too fine, it can happen that the filter clogs. Then remove the plunger and rinse it under water. Mix again and lower the plunger.
- Align the opening of the lid with the spout and pour the coffee into preheated cups.

Maintenance tips to continue drinking excellent coffee for a long time, a very long time:
Clean the VeoHome coffee maker after each use in warm soapy water.
Do not use abrasive sponges that can scratch the surface.
Make sure the filter is clean and there are no grains stuck in the holes.
Dry perfectly with a soft cloth.
Specific instructions for stainless steel maintenance.
Prolonged contact with corrosive substances such as detergents can damage stainless steel. To ensure the longevity of the coffee maker:
Do not let dirt dry on the surface of the steel. Always clean and dry the coffee maker immediately after use.
The coffee maker can be washed in a dishwasher. However, do not let the coffee maker dry in the dishwasher as residues could stick to it and corrode the material. Once the cleaning cycle is finished, take out the coffee maker and dry it properly with a dry, soft cloth.
Do not use the “Pre rinse” mode of the dishwasher with the coffee maker.
Wash silver steel cutlery or dishes separately from the coffee maker so as not to damage the silverware.
Safety note:
Always place the coffee maker on a flat, non-slip surface.
Pressing too abruptly on the plunger can eject hot water from the coffee maker and can cause burns.
Be careful when handling hot liquids to avoid burns.
